Reiki FAQ

1. How does distance Reiki work?
A trained Reiki practitioner guides energy through the body in a way that promotes healing and balance. For a distance session, the energy is channeled and transmuted to the beautiful recipient to any location as there is no limit to time, space or place with energy. It can be felt, sent and received from anywhere.
I set up my desk and use chakra cards to guide the energy, just as I would if you were in front of me on my Reiki table.
2. Do we need to be on a screen?
No, we don’t need to be be connected via a screen for the energy of Reiki to make its way to you.
I can tune into your energy (just for the time of the session) from my space and connect in with you, from wherever you are.
I feel that being connected via a screen often creates more of a disturbance.
It is my intention that the beautiful receiver is able to fully relax and receive the most from the distance healing. And that I am able to flow as needed to give the best from the session.
There are times I’ve had to move about (sometimes to the floor to lay down, sometimes out on the earth to help ground the beautiful recipients energy) I wouldn’t want to interrupt your relaxation, to let you know that I have to move about.
For most of the time in the distance sessions I have my eyes closed as this allows energy and spirit to flow through me with greater ease and without the human distractions.
3. How long does it go for?
I always say allow an hour for the session.
It may go over 5-10mins or it could finish before the hour. It really depends on the individuals needs and this can only be known when in the session.
Carve out an hour of quiet, uninterrupted time for yourself allowing you to really immerse yourself in the energy and to rest and relax. If you have extra time to relax afterwards, amazing! If not, that’s ok too.
4. How will I know when it is finished?
I will send a message to let you that the Reiki healing is now compete.
5. What do I need to do to prepare for a distance Reiki session?
To prepare for the session, please carve out an hour for yourself of uninterrupted time to really relax and receive from the session.
Create yourself a comfortable space, wether that be at home or out in nature.
You can if you like, but its not require have some calming, soft music playing, light a candle, light an incense or have a diffuser going, have crystals with you. Whatever you like to feel comfortable.
(Just make sure any flame is safe if you fall asleep)
The other thing I request is that you come into the session with an open heart and mind.
This allows for the Reiki and energy healing to flow to you with ease and you will receive the most from you session.
Its also great if you could set an intention for how you would like your session to go, or how you would like to feel afterwards.
Be gentle on yourself afterward and drink plenty of water leading up to the session and afterwards.
6. Will I feel your energy? How does it work?
Possibly you may feel the Reiki energy. Some Beautiful souls have told me they feel it as a warm sensation, some have felt a tingling- in some areas but not for the whole session.
Others experience a deep sense of peace and relaxation. Some have known which Chakras have been realigned. While others, haven’t felt anything during a session and this is so fine too!
7. It’s something I’m curious to try but I’m overthinking it or hesitant to jump in.
This is so normal! Our human mind will overthink everything about the session. But if you listen to the quiet whispers of the soul, that curiosity and go with the pull that landed you here then all will unfold as its meant to be.
The overthinking mind will quiet once in the session and you will be able to relax and receive.
You can always contact me to chat about a healing before purchasing one.
8. How do I set an intention for my session?
An intention is so powerful. Our thoughts and our words are like spells. Casting out our wishes out into the universe is a beautiful ritual. And so it’s about tuning into yourself for a moment, perhaps taking a deep breath and really asking yourself what it is you would like from this session. Or perhaps how you would like to feel afterwards.
It doesn’t have to be really specific. And I really don’t want you to overthink this one and create any worry- as that’s the opposite of what we are trying to bring in here.
Whatever you would like from your session- you can state this out loud, you could write it down or simply just think it to yourself. And then, let it go.
I always set an intention for the session too, and usually it involves the following:
May the beautiful healing energy of Reiki go where its needed for the highest good of the beautiful recipient. And so it is.
